GTools+, Display Google Bar On All Web Pages

If you are a heavy Google user you may like the Google bar that is displayed on top of all the Google properties. The bar links to several Google properties and displays notifications about new messages or posts on Google+. It furthermore contains a share link if Google Plus is used, and a link to the account settings and profile.

GTools+ for Google Chrome offers to add the Google Bar to all web pages that you open. The Chrome extension places the notification bar at the top so that the Google products, services and features can be accessed on third part sites as well.

To make things even more interesting, it is possible to display notifications for Gmail and Google Reader on the Google Bar as well.
This could be interesting for Google users who have installed notification extensions for those Google services as it could allow them to unify the notifications in one extension.

The notification count of Google Reader and Google Plus are automatically picked up, the Gmail notification count only after entering the Gmail username and password into a login form that is displayed after enabling the feature in the extension options.
The Gtools+ options can be used to configure the extension extensively. Here it is possible to limit the Unified Google Bar to Google properties only and to “unstick” the bar when scrolling.

It is furthermore possible to select the main links to Google properties that are displayed on the bar directly. This can be handy for Google users even if they only display the bar on Google owned web properties as it allows them to remove links to services that they do not use and replace them with services that they own.
GTools+ lists two additional options in its preferences. It is first possible to change the notification colors for Google+, Gmail and Google Reader separately. The second option is available under Google Plus. It is an option to add a language translation feature to Google Plus.

GTools+ is a handy extension for heavy Google Plus users, and users who use notification extensions for Gmail or Google Reader.

GTools+ can be installed directly from the Chrome Web Store.
